Workers at Candu Energy workers continue labour battle as job action enters third week…and the disruption could effect the planned refurbishment at the Darlington Nuclear Station

Workers at Candu Energy are continuing their lengthy labour battle against parent-company SNC-Lavalin. The workers are members of the Society of Professional Engineers and Associates, and spokesperson Thomas Zimmer says there is several issues that need to be resolved, including the protection of intellectual property in order to secure around 60,000 jobs in the future. Candu Energy is the original designer of major reactor components for the planned Darlington refurbishment project, and Zimmer says if labour problems drag on, the project runs a risk of being drastically affected.
